Learn about Lincoln University LVN program, registering for degree programs, and taking practice exams for free online. Nursing is one of the fastest-growing job areas, and for good reason. As the population ages, medical care will continue to expand. If you complete nursing coursework, for example, concentrations within the LVN program may appeal to you, such as nurse assistant training, vocational nursing, or occupational rehabilitation. Check with the nursing department for an updated schedule of classes, registration deadlines, and a list of LVN program requirements. Due to advances in medical systems, there is a growing skill-shortage of trained nurses, and of medical professionals in general. Please use the form above to request admissions info for Lincoln University.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) designation is the first step in becoming a nurse. After Becoming a CNA, you will assist in caring for patients by monitoring vital statistics, bathing, feeding and maintaining personal hygiene. Most CNA programs can be completed within a few months, allowing you to begin working. As the public ages, nursing care has become a major source of employment for new technical program graduates.

The next step in a nursing career is to become a licensed practical nurse or a licensed vocational nurse. This is a one year long LVN program, in which you'll work under an RN, and be assigned advanced care work. Practice requirements for nurses vary from state to state, but basic duties include passing meds, wound care, and administering feeding tubes. 1-year nursing certificate programs train students to pass the LVN program licensing exam, in order to become an licensed vocational nurse. It is common for 90% or more of the class to find nursing jobs within 6 months. You don't have to become a registered nurse to make good money, as a vocational nurse with several years of work experience can earn well over $40,000 a year.

Clinical Research Programs

The goal of clinical research is to develop knowledge that improves human health, or increases understanding of human biology. Most clinical trials in the United States are approved and monitored by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) in order to ensure that the risks are minimal, and are worth stated potential benefits. An IRB is an independent committee that consists of physicians, statisticians, and members of the community who ensure that clinical trials are ethical, and that the rights of participants are protected.

After a clinical trial is completed, the researchers examine the findings collected during the study, before making decisions about the merit of further testing. After a phase I or II trial, researchers must decide whether to move on to the next phase, or to stop testing due to safety concerns or effectiveness of the treatment. When a phase III trial is completed, researchers are challenged to consider whether the results have medical significance.
